A wish come true | ANCELLM Exclusive for Me.

 

We have had a relationship with COELACANTH since before its opening, and have been carrying the brand ANCELLM since the opening day.

Although ANCELLM has been a great supporter of ours since the beginning of the season, this is actually the first time we have done a special order just for our shop. The reason is that their collections are always so good that I can't think of any special order ideas that I would like to ask for. The only thing I was selfish about was a reprint of the "SKIPPER LONG SHIRT" from SS23, which I was unable to secure for myself, but with a different fabric. I really wanted to wear it, but I also knew how busy everyone on the team was, so I kept my voice low.

 

About half a year passed, and when I went to the 24SS exhibition, I fell in love at first sight with the "SILK SUEDE" fabric. I was saying to Namba-kun (nicknamed Nanchan), the No. 2 at ANCELLM, "This would make a good long shirt too," and later I got a call saying, "We can make a custom long shirt in silk suede."

"Seriously, this is the best. Please."

 

My long-cherished wish of over a year has come true. In the best possible way.

 

 

 

 

In this season's collection, SILK SUEDE was available in four styles: a shirt, cargo pants, a wrap blouson, and a collarless jacket.

The material is "silk noil," which is made by spinning again short fiber threads and by-products of the silk spinning process. This rough silk is dyed in a deep way, typical of ANCELLM, and then the fabric is simply fluffy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The color has a complex depth, with shades of black. When you look at it as a whole, you can see a glimpse of red, but when it is hit by light, the fluff shines pale blue. Black should fade in different ways depending on whether it is red or blue, but this fabric has both red and blue. I have never seen black like this before.

In contrast to the inherent appearance of silk, which has a strong luster, delicacy, and sexiness, it is full of wild charm and has a rough and powerful feel. However, its functionality as a fiber is like silk, and it will liven up your spring and summer with ease. In addition, the neps and unevenness reduce the area that comes into contact with the skin, so it brings a refreshing feeling like seersucker. I appreciate the ease of it being away from the skin.

 

 

 

 

This time, I heard that Attic, a famous store in Sendai, was making a "SILK SUEDE KIMONO BLOUSON" using the same silk suede, so I thought it would be great to wear it with a skipper shirt, so I consulted with the store owner, Suzuki-san, and we started planning the launch together. (Thank you so much to Suzuki-san for kindly accepting the project.)

Two different styles. A blouson over a skipper shirt. A long tail that hangs down from a short length. Personally, I like to layer the shirt on top and have the high neck and zipper of the blouson peek out from the deep skipper. It goes perfectly with the collarless jacket in the same material, and I was looking forward to being able to do this layered look. The more you layer it, the more attractive ANCELLM becomes. Even if you team it up with all black, it creates a solid sense of depth.

When the summer-like temperatures begin to peek out, you can wear a printed T-shirt or a tank top to keep your neck light and airy. Enjoy rolling up your sleeves. The warm temperatures will be to your advantage.
