My favorite summer shirt shape. | satou

There was a shirt in Satou's last collection that I really liked.

The “sleeping skipper shirt” and “fushiori skipper shirt” arrived in the height of summer.

Even though I really liked it, I didn't buy it carefully, it was quickly chosen in the store and I never got to get it.

We were hoping that this could become a signature piece for Satou, but the shirt was nowhere to be seen at the SS24 exhibition.

Although I was rudely complaining about why they had discontinued it, I really wanted to wear it this summer so I asked if they could make it to order.

Since we wanted to give the fabric a Japanese feel that is characteristic of Sato, we asked him to find a linen fabric mixed with washi paper, in addition to the stripes that were in the collection.

At first, we intended to make it in one color, but as we looked at the fabric samples, we decided that this one looked good and that one looked good, so we ended up making it in a total of four colors.

The hemp washi fabric is thin, sweet, and cool, yet has a chic firmness. Because it is a hot season, it should be washed every time it is worn, and after repeated use and washing, it becomes fluffy, light, and soft, with a bumpy texture and shadows.

When held up to the light it becomes transparent, and the woven washi threads stand out like an ikat pattern.

The large pleats on the front and back spread out the hem into a cone shape to allow air to pass through, and the dress sways loosely and comfortably, with the open collar giving a glimpse of summeriness.

Long-sleeved shirts for summer, which we proposed last year and the year before, look great even when you roll up the sleeves in various ways.

The cold weather is returning this weekend, but with recent temperatures it looks like we can bring the tent inside now.

When spring arrives, you can wear it with denim or light slacks, and in the height of summer, you can wear it with shorts and sandals, letting the hem flutter in the wind and enjoy wearing it until it's completely worn out.

We are late in announcing this due to the hustle and bustle of the exhibition, but the products will be available in store from tomorrow.

We hope you will find your favorite color in store.
