I was walking alone through the forest leading to Cape Roca, the westernmost point of the Eurasian mainland.
I felt the scent of conifers burst into particles and explode in my nostrils.
At that moment, I suddenly remembered raising swallowtail butterfly larvae when I was a child.
He took the humble pale yellow egg home and, after it hatched, fed it daily with Japanese pepper leaves.
A few days after the pupa emerged, a swallowtail butterfly with beautiful wings.
It seemed a little hesitant, perhaps reluctant to leave the house where it had spent its larval stage, but eventually it quietly flew away from the balcony.
The fragrance has a gorgeous woody note with incense, leather, rose, and spices such as Sichuan pepper and ginger.
